Birthday Mail Sack
I have fallen in love with this purse pattern. We have quite a few around the house. Sophia has 2... one that looks like an aquarium and one with cherries. I have a couple... one with green flowers, one with blue/tan flowers, and my current one with "going to the zoo" pattern. I made 2 for my neighbor at her request... one flowery, one with skulls. Yesterday I made one for my son's girlfriend's 21st birthday (with $21 in it)... it was pink and skulls. And I made the mini one for my niece to hold her birthday present.
My sister's birthday is next month. I found this wonderful green linen tablecloth at the thrift store and I would love to embroider a dia de los muertos skull on it and make her a purse as well. The following pictures are of my attempts to create a skull design that i like
I drew up a pattern of a skull that I liked and tried to embroider it. As it turns out those darn big flowers in the eye sockets are pretty hard for me to embroider (I am a very beginner embroiderer).
I decided to try something else in the eye sockets in the hopes that I would still be able to get a look that I could be proud of.
I really liked the eye sockets on this one but the whole forehead thing was blah. So I kept thinking about it as I was working... and came up with this one...
I really really like this one and I hope I am able to embroider it!!!
